Hilary has been involved in church life for many years. She has been a chorister at Holy Trinity for six years and, since retiring from physics teaching, has taken on more responsibilities including lay ministry, running a cell group and helping out in the church office.

Hilary and her husband Philip (who is a sidesman) have three children and five grandchildren. In the wider world Hilary serves on the committees of the Science and Religion Forum and the Society for Ecumenical Studies.
